Information on Helplines and Support Centres

Hi guys! Today’s post is giving some valuable information on helplines. This post is dedicated to anyone who may be suffering at the moment and may feel like they have no one to talk to or to help them. There is always someone you can turn to and this post is giving you just that information.

Below I have listed a number of helplines for you to call for help, guidance or a listening ear. Below are the names and contact information of a number of organisations/helplines who you can turn to for help.

SAMARITANS

Samaritans are a longstanding and trusted organisation providing confidential support for those in personal crisis. They are open to call 24 hours a day.

PIETA HOUSE

Pieta House provides suicide support service, free helpline and offers face to face counselling support. There helpline is available 24 hours a day.

TEEN-LINE IRELAND

Teen-Line Ireland are a helpline for young people who feel lonely, anxious, vulnerable, depressed or suicidal.

CHILDLINE

ChildLine is a free 24 hour counselling service for children and young people up to the age of 19 years.

AWARE – Defeat Depression

Aware is an organisation that provides online, telephone and face to face support and help to all affected by depression.

GROW (Ireland)

Grow is an organisation helping people recover from mental health problems.  Here you meet at weekly group support meetings nationwide. Here members support each other through their own experiences.

SHINE

Shine works with individuals and their family members with mental health difficulties.  They aim to raise awareness and provide information, education, counselling and support groups.

As you can see from above, a lot of these places are free to call and are completely confidential. You are even able to get the confidential help through the phone, if you’re not comfortable doing it face to face.

These people are trained to deal with any situation and are there to help, guide or just be a listening ear for anyone who needs it. Remember, there is always someone you can turn to and no one should have to suffer alone!
